Application dates & deadlines
Applications for Postgraduate Diplomas, and Masters degrees by coursework, or coursework and dissertation - CLOSE 30 September 2020. Applications for Research degrees (PhD, LLM or MPhil by research only) - CLOSED 31 August 2020.

Welcome to the School for Advanced Legal Studies

The School for Advanced Legal Studies is the home of postgraduate Law programmes at the University of Cape Town.

Registering with us for your postgraduate Law studies means joining a strong community of legal expertise in a range of areas including - amongst many others - Commercial Law, Taxation, Human Rights, Environmental Law, Refugee Law, and Shipping Law. 

With three Departments in the Faculty, postgraduate students can choose to focus their work in Private Law, Public Law and Commercial Law.
